Eye Openers

I never thought I would be saying this, but.....

Welcome to my blog!

Most folks who recognize my name know me as the editor of Our Sunday Visitor newspaper and the author of "Openers," my column that appears each week on Page 2 of OSV. Let me note at the outset, however, that this blog is not associated in any way with OSV and is not an extension of my "official" role as editor. It is merely my personal blog that examines matters of faith, family, news and culture from an authentic Catholic perspective.

With "Eye Openers," I hope to share on a daily basis some of my own thoughts and views on what's happening in the Church and society today. Just as importantly, I hope you will share your viewpoints with me. Together, as Catholics trying to live faithfully in an ever-changing world, we might just be able to grapple with some of the issues we face in our daily lives.

My rules for posting to this blog are relatively few. I ask that everyone acts in good faith and maintains a sense of decorum. A little ventilation here and there is OK, I suppose, but I will establish reasonable limits. Keep it clean, be diplomatic as possible, and let's engage in intelligent discussions.
